Cat, Helen and Ralph all through. Very hot here in Finland. Great that the commentary is in Finnish and English!

They interviewed her at the finish and she said that she took a path route that was lacking other competitors' footprints.

I couldn't find a link on the WOC paid services webpage to the, er, paid services. Any clues?

Still no joy. I found the same link in the WOC2013 chat box, but was none the wiser. And now even though I think I've worked out what I need to do, I get the message "An error was encountered" which isn't especially helpful...

Re: WOC 2013
Would advise against paying for any access to WOC web site. Their electronics seem to be a total disaster.
At the moment, the main WOC website seems to be down altogether.
Ran a public course with my own EMIT brikke (with a display) today, so I know there were many discrepancies between the EMIT unit codes and the codes displayed on the stakes - the codes on the stakes did at least tie up with the maps.
Possibly because of this, they refused to give any splits out at download. Some courses now have splits on the results website, some have splits for some runners only, and some courses have only total-time results with no splits at all.
Forest and weather glorious though.

WOC Facebbok says: Our internet server provider Sofor has problems at the moment with our website and that is why the website has been down. We do our very best to get things like they should be at WOC, and hope to be back at normal high standard with our web service and online services tomorrow morning before the sprint qualification starts. Sorry about the inconvenience. We know it is frustrating!
Another glorious morning here in Vuokatti. Yesterday it got up to about 24C by mid afternoon, and I guess it could do the same today by the time of the Sprint Final.
Sprint Qual first though:
Sarah 0911, Tessa 0915, Kris 0957, Murray 1007, Scott 1023.

It's (probably) a slightly more subtle lesson than that.
The website has been functioning fine for months. The hosting company has worked out how much bandwidth it needs to supply. And then suddenly the demand has surged many times. The hosting company has (I guess) not expected this and not catered for it.
So make very sure that your hosting company knows that your event is coming up and will drastically alter demand patterns. (My club got caught out by this the first time we staged a National Event in the internet era).
