Well I thought it was about time this event had it's own thread instead of being tacked on to the Venice Cancelled one.

I've just had a FB notification that the entry system is working and it looks like you have to register your club to do that on line. It wants to know the national code for the club - not come across that before - looks like its one code for the whole country - anyone know (Mike)?

spoke to Daniele today at an event up in the mountains. He is the web genius and I explained to him that we do not have club numbers just club names and acronyms. He willl amend things pdq! Here each club has a number allocated by the NGB (0746 for Club di Corsaorientamento Roma for example).

Ryan Air fly into Ciampino not Fiumicino so the best bet is a bus to the centre (45-50 mins, <10 euro) rather than the fast train from FCO (16 euros, 31 mins).

Entries will be on-line using OriEnS website at entries.rome2013.net. In order to register to the online system, clubs may already send a request by email to entries@rome2013.net This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , specifying club's country, full length and short name, national code (if applicabile), club manager's name and email address. As soon as possibile we will provide login/password to access the system by message to the specified email.

Therefore, taking Mrs H as an example, she sends an Email saying: Country: UK, Club: Malvern and District Orienteers, Acronym: MADO, Team Manager: Mrs H and Email: MrsH@orinet.org...

Daniele or Giuliano will then reply with your logon details to enable you to enter you and your team/club/family.

Note: that here in Italy a member of the Club Comittee always does the entries for everybody in the Club and then someone (it was me this Sunday) collects the money on the day from all the individuals and passes it to the organizer. The entry system is set up with this in mind. If you go as a family/group of friends, then you just invent a club such as MADO, SUGARLOAF, SCARBO.

If you have any questions then please feel free to give me a shout. I am planning the urban race on the Colosseum Map and controlling the middle race on Villa Ada so I am heavily involved in the event.

Well that's me and Mr H all official - infact I think GB runners are top nation at present
This is shaping up to a great little trip - cashing in Avios (Airmiles) so return flights £30 each, Flying into Naples and spending a week on the Amalfi coast in a dreamy gite on a lemon farm over looking the sea, ditch the car and take the train to Rome for a week in an extremely bijou studio apartment between the Tiber and the Vatican City before flying back home from Rome.
