Does anyone have any maps of Leopoldsburg (JWOC1997 area) that they can share?
Scanned in copies with JWOC courses on them would do.
I would be extremely grateful for any assistance as I see from the results that some well known Nopesporters were there, not to mention Tero G and some young Swiss girl called Simone something!
I have tried World of O but links to the maps are broken.
ciao

Any specific names. We have been on most of them over the past few years.

Don't know what you're trying to do with the maps, but if you just want some latest copies I'm sure the locals can provide you with some. They're nice guys the Belgians
As a starter you could try Tom Herremans you can find his email address here http://sun-o.com/sites.php?sites_id=6. I'm sure the Herremanses can either sort you out directly or know someone who can

Re: JWOC 1997 Maps - Leopoldsburg
Cheers Arnold,
What's it about?
The Belgian, Estonian, German, Polish, US, Dutch and British Air Forces have an orienteering competition every 2 years. This year it is at Leopoldsburg, 2 years ago in Estonia and before that at Wendover Woods/Halton Camp (thanks to mates from TVOC).
I am taking a mens and womans team to Belgium for the event and so have 16 orienteers captive for 6/7 hours or so on a coach. I want to get them thinking about the areas, techniques likely to be required and the challenges facing them rathe than just have dead time.
Unfortunately Poland still has national service and signed up their WOC runners immediately before the Wendover competition. However, our Ladies have traditionally done well with Sadie Burrow (ex UVHS) winning the individual title in Estonia.
I get to go to the posh dinners with the VIPs so thought I should actually try and do some coaching to earn my food and vino!
I will ping Tom H an email as you suggest. Many thanks for the help
Mike

Thanks very much to everyone who has helped out with my request. I am now knee deep in maps
Your generosity is much appreciated and particularly that of the nice lady who has lent us her actual competition maps.
grazie molto a tutti

Rachel Sullivan (nee Ellis) won the Ladies individual and led the ladiesteam into 2nd behind the hosts. Men were 3rd behind Poland and Belgium.
I am reliably informed that our team won the drinking competition afterwards but was heading for the airport myself
