To anyone involved with BOC -

Please, please, please can we have the final details for Sat & Sun.

With just 2 1/2 days before travelling to the event it would be helpful to know times, distances etc.

They are going up shortly but most of the info for Saturday and Sunday has been in the provisional details for some time but:
Individual Starts 11:00 to 15:00
Relay Starts: 10:00 to 11:10

Starts, Finish and Spectator Controls
There will be 3 starts in total to accommodate anticipated volumes and to set the best possible courses across the range of competitors.

The starts will be across a 4 hour window (approx) from 11am.

The ARENA START is in the finish arena and will showcase our Elite athletes.

The NEAR START will be used by the two shortest junior courses and non competive courses. It is about 500m from the arena.

The FAR START will be used by all other courses and is less than 1km from the arena. It passes by the near start en route.

The FINISH for all courses will be in the arena adjacent to car park 1. There will also be a SPECTATOR CONTROL for the main elite classes where you can watch the action live.

As it is Ad-hoc team will be competitive

There may be some "cosmetic" amendments made in the next
day or so. If you want to download and print them it may well be
worth leaving it as late as you can, as someone may make a comment
that results in a clarification or amendment.

Road crossings. All courses except 27 and 28 cross roads. None are particularly
busy, but traffic can be fast, so take care. There is one road crossing for other
under 16s (and those that share a course with them i.e. courses 17, 24, 25 and
26) which will be manned and have a one minute maximum time–out between
the controls on either side of it. With this exception road crossings are not
mentioned on the control description sheets

Apologies if I am being a bit dense, but I find this paragraph ambiguous.

Please can somebody (MIE? anybody from BOC2013?) confirm

- courses 17,24,25 and 26 have only one road crossing, and that road crossing is manned and timed out
- the other road crossings mentioned are not on courses 17 etc

The alternative reading is that there are multiple road crossings on courses 17 etc, and that one of them is manned/timed out. (I have in mind a scenario where the one busy road is considered dangerous but smaller quieter roads are not). I am fairly sure that is not the meaning intended, but then again I wouldn't want my 10 year old daughter to get run over.

- 27 and 28 cross no roads
- 17 24 25 and 26 cross only 1 road in total, and at a manned and timed out point (1min max)
- all other courses cross 1 or more roads, which can be crossed anywhere (except one area shown as OOB), without any manned or timed out crossings

Looking at the map on page 2 of the Individual Final Details - I can't see the route to the Near and Far Starts. I can only see the route to the elite start.
It is just me

I think the Elite start is on the map because it's in assembly. The details say that the far start is about a kilometre walk and passes the near start - I'm 100% sure it'll be signposted.
