BUCS (or BUC's for fans of errant apostrophes) Orienteering is in Sheffield this weekend.
Saturday: Individual on Burbage.
**Rubix Pop Tarts**
Sunday: Relays Greno.
(both areas should be faster than normal courtesy of recent snow)
final details etc. can be found here and will be updated throughout.
How will early-season UK-Scene pace-setter Jonny Crickmore get on? Will it be too cold for those that have been out in Portugal? How many Uni's will field full teams outside of ShUOC/EUOC/UDOC? Will Treb have to drink all of ShUOC's beer-race pints? Will Peter Hodkinson climb a wall, and if he does who will appeal!
I'm not making any predictions until I see a start-list, as who knows how many EUOCers are onto the 5th degree...

I'm not sure anything has ever annoyed me more than that apostrophe and/or lack of capitalization over the last few months.
Personally I think EUOC have one final chance to shine with their top men before their chances rest on the shoulders of many great women. Assuming mharky doesnt bail.
GUOC for the future......

The white army - LUOC!
Though we'll surely spend the most number of hours in the forest - even with a team half the size of ShuOC and EUOC

Re: BUCS 2013
Unfortunately the results software we use (MERCS) only allows for club abbreviations (up to 6 characters). But I don't mind doing a search/replace to get the full names back into web results afterwards, if that's helpful.
In the absence of better suggestions, I'll go with:
ABER
HWATT
MANMET
HALLAM
LEICS
SALFD

If abbreviations are used, I'm sure that LEIUOC and WATTOK have been used in the past.

This isn't a club competition. The students aren't running for their club. They're running for their university.

Well ok then, so my question is about whether there are standard abbreviations for those universities...
