Generally, I'm with MrsH on this too.

Running together does make a huge difference. IOF knows this and chooses to do nothing: elite athletes know this and choose to do whatever gets them to the finish line soonest.
That would be why they're elite athletes. Well done Tess, and good luck to Riina for hanging on despite the injury.

A bunch more pictures added to the set from today's Sprint Qualifier, starting here. Good to see Helen running again. Nick and Rhys missed out on top 40 qualification places, but all the rest (Helen, Tessa, Matt, Murray, GG) go through to tomorrow's Final.

Another hot day today, but tomorrow's race is earlier and will be cooler.

Open race seems to have been the same course and was won by current World Champion and sometime Edinburgh resident Linnea Gustavsson. Very respectable 25.18 by Clare Baker.
