A reminder that if you're thinking of heading down to NZ for the World Cup and Oceania Carnival events in January 2013, the early entry closing date is a couple of days away (30 June).

This could be usefully combined with the Christmas 5 Days series of events in Victoria, Australia from 27th to 31st December 2012

Re: New Zealand World Cups and Oceania Carnival
Only a couple of days now until the World Cups start in New Zealand, and the Oceania races start tomorrow. The warm up races near Auckland were fun, and lots of elites came along for at least a day or two of the four - results here.

Unbelievable
wouldn't it be funny if you were there when we got off the bus.
The Milford Track had record rainfall last week - over 400mm
Where shall we go next year?

No rain for World Cup 1 - in fact it was hot (27 degrees) and sunny all day.
Tessa joint 14th and GG 19th, others not so good.

I don't understand - I'm not seeing any photos and the ink says Tessa was joint 14th - has it been changed?
That's a great result Tessa and well done RFR - Glad to see Young Neville didn't lead him astray at their NZ Christmas Eve reunion

Good result from Tessa. Martin Ward's photo (Finnish top) and the splits rather give the game away!!!

Re: New Zealand World Cups and Oceania Carnival
John - you need to look at the splits a little more closely as you don't seem to understand that Tessa punched virtually every control ahead of Riina.
You may also wish to apologise!

Why did I do that...

Re: New Zealand World Cups and Oceania Carnival
Draw your own conclusions. The photographic evidence and the split to the first control speak for themselves. Who reaches the punch first and who navigates is irrelevant when one runner is clearly faster. (The Finnish runner is recovering from a severe injury). Running together whoever navigates better is a huge advantage for both.

I've drawn my own conclusion - and it doesn't concern Tessa or Riina
