Jethro Seem like a bargain for the Oroc 340s - who are SportPursuit? Lots of good stuff on their website but hard to understand what sort of business they are and why such discounts? I spent most of the Northern Navigator's Boxing Day Score sliding down the hills on my backside (not deliberately) so some dobs can only be a good thing.

Good value. Shame I'm up to date with my o shoes, even have 2 pairs of flyroc 310s as I like them so much (more for trails, walking and putting out controls than orienteering though)

I've used them before (in their last Inov8 sale, when they had ORocs for £10 more than now

If I had an income other than a student loan, I'd buy from Ian of Ultrasport every time though!

Re: Inov-8 shoes
Gross, I am getting too old for chasing sheep - have a four legged friend to do it for me.
A lot of the stuff on Sports Pursuit seems to be odd sizes and colours - presumably stuff that hasn't been shifting well and the manufacturers are wanting rid of. I bought a couple of tops for Christmas presents and everything worked ok.

Oroc 340's are £44.99 + £4.99 for 2-5 working day shipping at SportsShoes.com so similar price but you'll get them sooner and they have a returns policy.

Re: Inov-8 shoes
Any ideas what the O-Rocs are like? I will need to replace my ageing Adidas Swoops this season sometime and I've never worn Inov8s. Swoops no longer available in my size. I had been aiming to try the mudclaw 300s but if I can get these for £50 I'd be tempted! Don't want to gamble £75 on a pair of shoes that don't suit me!

I'll let you know when mine arrive
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

I've got a pair from Sportsshoes this week (£44.99 plus postage)- (no need to wait until end of Jan)
Fit is normal (I normally take a 10 and Inov 10's are fine) They feel great across the forefoot but I haven't got a wide foot, they may be too tight if you've wide feet)
Not used in competition yet (MDOC's John O Goats today forbade spiked shoes) but ran in my Inov8 Talons- apart from the dozy thin laces I think this is a great shoe

The mudclaw 300s are an excellent replacement for the swoops. I loved my 4 or 5 pairs of swoops but I wouldn't go back - the mudclaw's have much better grip. I'd go for half a size smaller than swoops, and then the fit is very similar.

Re: Inov-8 shoes
as the 300s are a new model, there are Mudclaw 333s going cheap. Same grip, a bit heavier but, from what I've seen, the 333 upper looks a bit more suited to rough forest. (300's upper seems somewhere between Xtalon and 333 upper, so maybe not as resilient)
I mainly use 333s for O and upper lasts well (400mile+ of rough stuff) compared to, say, the Xtalon212 (frayed after 200miles of fell racing, very little undergrowth involved).
