Congratulations to OD's Sheila Carey who has been made an MBE in the New Year Honours list, for services to disability sport in Warwickshire.
Sheila is also a multiple British orienteering champion and double Olympic finalist (800m in Mexico and 1500m in Munich), and carried the Olympic torch in Warwick this summer.
She also received the accolade of a feature in Compass Sport "know your class leader" not too long ago, I am sure Nick will be along soon to tell us exactly which issue....

OBE - the BEM was British empire Medal abolished by John Major but there was talkof bring it back. From bottom (BEM), MBE, OBE, CBE, KBE

...and they brought it back earlier in 2012. BEM is correct; OBE would be "Officer of the Order of the British Empire".
And you forgot GBE, not that there's very many of them.
