Re: Automated regional fixture lists
Good work oo_wrong_way, I like the table view when searching for events in the custom lists tab, I'll use this a fair bit.
I've signed up to the weekly email so when it comes in I'll see how that works!

Thanks oo_wrong_way - have signed up and looking forward to the weekly email updates. Just what I need
. The calendar add-ins feature is particularly useful.

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
I know we have an event coming up that won't be registered through BOF (It's via BMBO) -do you have the facility to add them to your listings ?
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
No - the listings are created "on the fly" from the BO fixture list. That could be a future development though. I would be interested to know how often we have orienteering events open to all that are not featured in the BO list.

The (probably) not to rise again Phoenix was registered as a Fell Race ( I think because their rules made more sense for it) (but FreeFall will know)

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
Glad you like it. Once you have gone through the rigmarole of creating a list to your liking you can always bookmark the page that displays the list. Each time you visit the page it will be updated with live info.
For the more technical:
Club webmasters can use an iFrame to display a list defined for their Club. RSS feeds can be created that are refreshed daily. For a bit more robustness you can take an RSS url and pass it to feedburner.com giving the feed a name of your choice.
We are also producing regional and club iCAL files listing events for the next two years. This feature is still under development. If anyone is interested in subscribing to iCAL files please let me know if you want to be a beta tester!

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
Our club website has the functionality to subscribe to an ical formated calendar of events, and indeed we have already added SLOWs ical feed.
On our club site we carry both our own fixtures and those of each of our bordering clubs (mix of EAOA and SEOA clubs), plus the regional league and other major fixtures. the ability to automate this by a combination of ical feeds would be very interesting to us as it would eliminate a volunteer task, freeing someone up to do something else!

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
Alan - the posterboard view on the CHIG calendar looks great. Is that from a purchased theme?
The iCAL feeds available from http://oevents.info/icals/ all have names in a standard format. Some examples:
There are currently 196 separate calendar files.
The calendar files are recreated every week and contain all events registered on the BO database for the next two years. If there are no events for a particular calendar then the file is not created. For instance there are no Level A events registered for NIOA so the file A_NIOA.ics does not exist.

- A_UK.ics - all Level A events UK wide
- A_SEOA.ics - all Level A events in the SEOA region
- B_UK.ics - all Level B events UK wide
- B_YHOA.ics - all Level B events in the YHOA region
- C_UK.ics - all Level C events UK wide
- C_SOA.ics - all Level C events in the SOA region
- D_UK.ics - all Level D events UK wide

Re: Automated regional fixture lists
the plug-in is All-in-One Event Calendar. There is a bug with the Cron job appearing in the URL but apparently will be fixed with version 1.9 out soon.
I'll try adding some of those fixture icals and see how it goes.
