My copy of Focus arrived this morning in a soggy part opened enveloped. There was the magazine and an advert for healthcare. Was there anything else that had fallen out ?
Thanks,
Winter Focus

Seriously though did you not get your cheque for £2000 as per Graeme's calculation of the money you are owed from the BOF/UK sports deal?

Mine arrived this morning open too. Time for a laboured metaphor for the glue holding the sport together now falling apart? Or are there floods in the Derbshire Dales?

Dry[ish] down here in SCOA - intact envelope and contents were just 'Focus' and the throwaway Healthcare thing.
Have a great festive season everyone!

Typical - no sign of it here in the North Pennines. What am I going to read over Christmas?

Arrived here in the mid-Pennines this morning. Can't say there's a huge amount - how about reading a book instead (I am)?!

Came on here with the intention of posting a question about whether there was anything missing as my copy of Focus also arrived part opened. Nice to know it wasn't my postie's fault as the same appears to be happening across the country. Had wondered if my 2013 membership card had been nicked from the envelope, but I guess from the 'unopened' answers, that BOF are sending these out separately?

I believe after the debacle earlier this year when a large number of us got the wrong age group on our cards they decided to save £2000(?) by not sending out any in future
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Re: Winter Focus
Well I received my membership "card" from BOF as an email attachment . I renewed on-line, paid by credit card and received confrmation within two days of paying my membership fee. All seemed very slick. Why is anyone needing to wait for cards to come in the post ?
The "card" was provided as part of the membership confirmation pdf. Admittedly when I printed off the membership confirmation form the card image was on paper. But i cut around the box on the page as indicated by the sissor symbol ~ it's the same shape as the old card. I then just covered it in selotape to make it more rigid though you could of course laminate it if you wished. Job done ~ you have a membership card..
So... I don't understand comments being made that members are not being provided with a membership card which can be shown to anyone who needs to know. Am I the only one who seems to have received this pdf attachment when i renewed ?

I got my membership card by e mail too, and agree it was very slick. The office could not have been more helpful in disentanging our erstwhile family membership into individual membership, cancelling excess direct debits and issuing a refund, all within minutes of my first phone call.
Wish all my financial transactions went that smoothly...
Our Focus was soggy too, but so has most of our mail been for the last few days, and quite a few envelopes haven't made it through the letterbox intact. I've only just started reading it, but have spotted several articles that I'm really looking forward to digesting after Christmas Day.
