Can anyone please help? Can you buy Emit cards with the scrolling display anywhere? EmitUK only seem to have version 2 (no display) and Ultrasport version 4 (from the picture it looks like there is no display).
Thanks!

Re: Emit cards
I think they had too many failures with this model so stopped doing them.

Re: Emit cards
E-mail Allan anyway as there is still a chance that he has some in stock.
There was a particularly bad batch which had something like a 50% failure rate
in the first year which was proving (obviously) to be problematical to
Emit Norway and hence all display units were discontinued. This excludes
those that failed due to the "user" putting the unit in upside down, cracking the display
and then cliaming a refund for the unused battery life
.
I am waiting for my 7/8 year old display unit to die soon

Re: Emit cards
Mine only lasted about 3 years. Not good value for money. Andy's lasted about 2 and it was replaced but the replacement failed quite quickly too.
What are pictorial descriptions?

Re: Emit cards
My V3 brick is still going strong after 5 years or so, but can't have much longer left (today's Nov Classic cancellation gives it another week.)
Has anyone tried replacing a dead battery? As there's nothing to lose, I plan to cut it open along the seam with a Dremel, hope to find a CR2032 or similar inside, replace that then seal it up with silicone.

Re: Emit cards
Maroc brikkes - most failures were due to smashed windows - people putting card in upside down and pin cracking screen.....
Replacing batteries - we have tried it and no joy!

Re: Emit cards
E-mailed Allan, his reply was comprehensive and informative. Basically no new V3 cards (the one's with the scrolling display) but he has stock of ex.hire V3's at a discounted price.
Thanks for all the comments!

Where's the problem? Opening the brick, sourcing/fitting a new battery or getting it to work after replacing?

The problem is getting it to work after opening and replacing battery. Something seems to go "phut" when the sealed unit is opened and they just refuse to work again. If some else has a better experience please let me know and we can try again!

Re: Emit cards
Given that the scrolling display version is no longer available, does anyone feel that there is any advantage to the orienteer for using an EMIT brikke over an SI SI Card?
I can only think of disadvantages - size and unweildiness...

100% proof from the backup card that you have been to the control regardless of what the electronic stuff says.
