No-one has mentioned that the event was won by the Haines family (441 points in total). Surely a club should be penalised for having an orienteering dynasty running for them

I think that it very positive that LOC managed to do so well without having many original orineteering families. The few families that you see in LOC are actually reverse families, i.e. the kids started first then the adults (Allison's excepted).

As for the issue of Juniors running the wrong classes - it doesn't matter! If the CSC is put on almost anywhere else except for Scotland or the Lakes, the courses are all Light Green at best anyway.

There is always a lot of effort put into discussing the minutiae of rules and trying to make them "fairer" in orienteering, which would be better spent on something else - almost anything else. When someone starts talking about using the ranking list to determine who can run what then I start to despair.
