After a 3 year break, Oxford University Orienteering Club are proud to offer you another chance to get thoroughly lost in the beautiful "dreaming spires" of Oxford.
We are aiming to break the mould of standard Long-style urban orienteering, which traditionally favours the fastest flat runners. This year, courses will offer intense and challenging technical navigation. Those with a good sense of direction who can make quick decisions will be the most successful.
Current course estimates:
Men's Open - 9.0km, 49 controls
Women's Open - 7.5km, 39 controls
(Straight line distances, courses liable to change slightly, Version 6 dibbers will be available for £1 for all those who need them).
All other course lengths will be scaled as usual. There are no age limits; traffic free courses are available for under 16's and under 12's.
With sponsorship being negotiated from a local ice cream shop, and a TVOC regional event the day after near High Wycombe, what more could you wish for?
Cheap entry deadline is at midnight tonight, with late entries available on fabian4 until 14th October. See event details here - http://users.ox.ac.uk/~ouoc/cityrace/

PS - apologies for the clash with Nopesport urban league in Dunblane, but that is miles away and we can GUARANTEE that the weather will be better in Oxford.
