Events & Competitions Workgroups

Details of the new Events & Competitions workgroups are now up on the BOF website. Full details and terms of reference are all up there, so I'm not going to repeat them here. The Groups for which members are being sought are:

• Event Officials
• Events Systems
• Event Programme & Publicity
• Map Advisory
• Technology Advisory

There will also be an Event Scheduling Group, which will have Association representatives.

Applications are open to all - I know there are some people here on Nopesport who would have a lot to offer, so I hope you will all think about putting yourselves forward! It's worth noting that the Map Advisory and Technology Advisory Groups will being doing all of their business by email or conference call, so for those you wouldn't even need to travel to face-to-face meetings.

There's a (very straightforward) application form on the website, and the deadline for applications is 29 July. If you're interested and have any questions or want to discuss details before sending in an application, feel free to PM me or email me at scott.collier@britishorienteering.org.uk and I'll do my best to find answers.

Bumping this back up, as applications for the various Groups are being reopened after the initial round of applications didn't yield sufficient candidates to fill all of the vacancies. There are still spaces on all five of the centrally-appointed Groups:

One week to go until the application deadline. These groups offer exciting opportunities to get involved in shaping the future of orienteering events in the UK, and previous experience of serving on BOF committees is definitely not required!
