Prodigy - 'Stand Up'
Primal Scream - 'Movin' on up'
Chemical Brothers - 'Private Psychedelic Reel'
Leftfield - 'Afro-Left'
unless the object of the exercise is to psych out everyone parked nearby, in which case 'Sometimes' by My Bloody Valentine as loud as your car stereo will manage will probably do the trick

The rainy intro to Riders on the Storm by the Doors might be suitable depending on climatic conditions...

Finnophilically, the best race pre music is probably Sibelius, because it means you're about to run the first leg of Jukola.
But, sad to report, this summer it's been Henry.
altogether now ...rolling down the mountain going fast, fast ,fast, and if he blows it this one's gonna be his last... Henry raced it, he got wasted, couldn't even see, how he's gonna drive like than is not too clear to me... I'll get my coat

Young Neville favoured Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance full blast with the windows down rolling into the car park field - but then he did go to the Wyche Primary School where Land of Hope and Glory was first performed in public. It's a mantra in Malvern

Malvern Wells Primary School didn't have quite the same traditions / influence on me!
I know it's AR, not orienteering, but "The Final Countdown" by Europe always brings back memories of ACE races - and it's a Swedish band, thus orienteering related?

Talking of Swedish bands - it's got to be Abba and 'Waterloo' focusing on need for pre-race drink v the length of the toilet queue

Dylan's "Like a Rolling Stone" with "no direction home"?
Also nice to see Doors fans here - so "You're Lost Little Girl"
Velvet Underground - Run, Run, Run
Grateful Dead - Cold Rain and Snow; The Faster We Go, The Rounder We Get,
Captain Beefheart - Zig Zag Wanderer; Petrified Forest.
OK, I'm M60
