The announced dates for these events seem to be:
WMOC Gothenburg Sunday 26 July - Sunday (sic) 2 August 2015
source: IOF website
http://orienteering.org/jwoc-and-wmoc-i ... announced/
WOC and Scottish 6 Days Moray Sunday 2 August - Saturday 8 August 2015
source BOF website major fixtures list
http://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/p ... r_fixtures
Even if we assume that WMOC would run, as has been usual in Europe, Sunday to Saturday and so finish on Saturday 1 August, this makes it nigh impossible for anyone to compete in both WMOC and the Scottish 6 Days unless they have the use of a private jet (not to mention the desire to run two multi-day events back to back - make that three if they want to do O-Ringen). Please can someone out there take note and fix this.

Currently you can fly direct from Copenhagen (3 hr drive from Gothenburg) to Aberdeen, or fly Gothenburg-Amsterdam-Inverness. I am sure one of these options could work for the fanatic.

Wow not spotted that, what an O-Hol: Oringen to WMOC to S6D - Even if you have to drop a dayof S6D to do it! It's gonna have to be done
Mind you if WMOC follows the traditional formula and starts on 26 Jul you would have:
26 Jul SQ
27 Jul SF
28 Jul RD
29 Jul LQ1
30 Jul LQ2
31 Jul RD
1 Aug LF
with D1 of S6D on 2 Aug then it might just be possible using Roo's Aberdeen flight.
Edit: Roo I think I may be a fanatic

Re: WMOC and WOC/Scottish 6 Days 2015
We (WOC organisers) were made aware of this recently, it would be really fiddly to change our dates at this stage given they've been set for ages. We were very surprised that not only the Swedes had put the dates of WMOC so close but also that the IOF had agreed to it.

It is the same for 2013 - O-ringen (in Boden north of Arctic Circle) - Moray 2013/Euromeeting - then WMOC Turin. There is a day for travel between the first two but not for the second. WOC/WTOC in Finland is earlier, then you get a week before the O-ringen.

Re: WMOC and WOC/Scottish 6 Days 2015
I think there may be some discussions about moving WMOC by one day (they don't have much more room for manouevre because of O-ringen, and a big football tournament in Gothenburg itself).
Having not been to it for a while, I presume the 6-days still works on the basis of being able to drop your worst couple of days? If so then missing the first day isn't the end of the world (although my view on this may be jaundiced because I rarely get a "complete result" in WOC spectator events because one of the days invariably clashes with the IOF meetings).

]On behalf of the Scottish 6 Day Co I have raised our concerns over the clash/overlap with Bjorn at the IOF (as did Dave Peel and others re WOC2015). It may influence our choice of programme/venues.
If anyone wants a sneak preview (home advantage?) of possible areas look no further than the recently released film Brave.

I watched the 3D version and found myself looking at possible route choice/control sites etc. The realism is amazing.
