There will be no event in 2011 but a new date for 2012 is 25/26 of February.
The Saturday sprint event will be round the Old Town whilst the Sunday long race will
link several parks including Parc Guell.
A website will be up for it shortly

Does anyone know if there is a website up yet? I'd be interested to know a bit more about the format.

Website here, but it has no further details and doesn't appear to have been updated for a few months.

Re: Barcelona Trophy 2 days event
I went to the Barcelona races in November last year with Wattok and they were excellent. Saturday urban sprint race in a nice neighbourhood built for 92 olympics with a micro-o section right at the end that tripped me up. Then a long sunday park race at the 92 Olympic park itself (winning time about an hour?) with tough navigation and lots of climb. The map for the olympic park itself was the most detailed I've ever seen - a few times I actually had to stop to get it right.
They managed to put on a good social on Saturday evening that wasnt just map geeking. 2 quality orienteering events, 2 good nights out, exploring an old town and the Nou Camp, probably under £150 spent on everything and didnt even need to take a day off work!
Don't be put off by the lack of information - 2 of the best events I've been to - this and Istanbul 5 days summarised everything on a couple of sheets of A4 a few weeks before the event.

Ever since visiting Parc Güell a couple of years ago I thought it'd be prime for orienteering, will be hitting this up for sure.
Now, if they could organise a race around Montserrat as well...

I'm intigued by the following information on the website
On friday afternoon it will be possible to get number bids and O-pants on this same area
I think the bids should read bibs - but o-pants! Count me in!
Seriously tempted by the photos. Anyone been before and know how "not ISSOM" the 1:5000 map is and how "magnifying glass required" the 1:7500 map is?

It was a good fun event in 2010 - the 'pants' are great for urban-O. Think the sprint is in a different area from last time, but the Olympic Park was great for orienteering around (and I had no problems reading the map) - sort of a combination of different terrain and very steep in places.
