Saunders Lift
A bit last minute, but does anyone have space in their car for one person going up to the Saunders from SE England? Am in Guildford but can get a train to London or similar. Very happy to pay petrol money etc. Any offers please email me at sjcollier@gmail.com

Re: Saunders Lift
And Brendan Bolland (Warrior) winning the Scafell with a partner (Chris Jones) he met on the start line.
And Chris and Mike Rhodes (Lakeland) winning the Wansfell
and Andrea and Oscar Meanwell (Warrior) first mixed on Bedafell
and maybe most importantly, a new caterer. The final meal was best forgotten but the Friday night/Saturday morning catering was by Fell and Dales Catering, a couple of hill farmers' wives. Cumberland Sausage, Pork and Apple Burgers, Chilli, Potatoes etc - and the cakes were magnificent.

Re: Saunders Lift
Dave Spence (WCOC?) was 2nd on Scafell as well I think
Lewis and Jonny had 26mins on myself and Wil overnight (we did plod about a bit, it was warm!). However, on day 2 Jonny managed to mark one of the controls 1km out on their map, I believe this is a skill required by all those taking a geography degree. We took different lines into the last control, them being about 200m ahead. Jonny started cramping up and I caught the 2 of them but they managed to get going again. 27 seconds after 9hr20 racing works out at about 0.08% - a good racing finish to a lovely weekend in Wasdale! (back this weekend for the fell race!)
