Hi all
We are delighted to be able to announce the birth this month of Plymouth University Orienteering Club. The club has been established as a joint staff/student venture with the support of the universities recreation department, the long term goal is to establish a sustainable orienteering club run by and for students.
If you know of any potential members due to join the university this September then please message me details so we can welcome them to the university and the club.
Any advice/support from the Nopesport community is more than welcome.
Regards
Mark, Rob, Jamie

Will you be shouting "Poo - ock" like " Shoo - ock" at events?

Excellent! Running an O club at a Uni where it's not already a big club isn't easy, keep it fun and sociable and you will get a lot out of it!

Congratulations and commiserations. Good Luck and I'm sure that nearby clubs will all offer assistance (if only giving you map files to borrow for introductory events)
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Very good news - I sure we all hope it is successful. I, like I suspect many other of my generation, came to the sport through a Uni club. [ Have to admit though it was not through Fresher's Week though I do remember seeing their maps at a stall, but via a conversation in a bar a year later

Congratualtions and welcome. Dont be put off doing stuff even if there are only a few of you - ask for help! The more you get out there the more you'll grow.
