WOC/Swiss 5 Days
Now that Mharky has been selected I want to go. Unfortunately I've missed closing date so will do the Open events on the days Mharky is not running. Anybody else going? Any ideas re somewhere to stay - I don't do camping - and car hire. I want to get back to do the Welsh, but realise I'll probably miss the first day.

Claire Ward has an extra day scheduled at the Swiss 6 Day according to twitter

You can run the spectator races and watch WOC, as they're scheduled that way (e.g. on Monday, spectator race in the morning, WOC middle qual in the afternoon).
We're going, but I'm not sure yet if we'll fly or drive. It's an 8 hour drive to Lausanne from Calais (not much further than Deeside was!), and car hire is expensive in Switzerland, so driving looks a better option.

Re: WOC/Swiis 5 Days
We were in a similar position two years ago. We contacted the organisers of the WOC tour in Trondheim and they let us enter into the races we wanted to do.
This year we entered with a few days to spare, but we have still to worry about the travel from Scotland to Switzerland to Wales to Scotland.

Thanks guys. I'll try contacting the Organiser. Had a go last night but couldn't get the link to work!

Don't forget the car permit thingy you need to drive in Switzerland and can buy at the border - it was about 40 euros.

You don't need to buy a permit so long as you don't use the motorway (much nicer in Switzerand anyway). The permit is a motorwy toll. Make sure you don't enter Switzerland on a motorway if you don't wish to pay.

Tried emailing the Organiser on the given contact
swiss5days@woc2012.ch but it's been sent back!
Anybody got another contact address or phone number. I really need to get things sorted asap.

AT WMOC in Switzerland we stayed in France (cheaper and food better!) and didn't pay toll - had to be careful not to turn onto a motorway - not always well signed. I wasn't born and bred in Aberdeen for nothing

Re: WOC/Swiss 5 Days
We spent a few days in Geneva after WOC last year. It was very expensive and put us off any thoughts of going again this year. We did manage to avoid driving on any toll motorways though.
