Last Chance to run on an Exceptional Area
Entries on Fabian4 for the Tamar Triple close this Sunday 20th May. All three events are in Devon over the Jubilee weekend, and Day 2 on Sunday 3rd June is the Southwest West Middle Distance Championship event on a dual scale map. The exceptional area is the old mining strip known as Wheal Florence, mapped at 1:2500. After JK2010 an event here attractive some enthusiastic comments. See viewtopic.php?f=1&t=10552&p=115183&hilit=jk2010+wheal#p115183 Unfortunately the area is going to be buried under waste from a nearby tungsten mine which will reopen shortly.

Re: Last Chance to run on an Exceptional Area
Searchs suggest the Florence was a lead mine but the area has beeen worked for tungsten about 100 years ago. This suggests that the high price of metals is making mining commercially viable again, and there may be quite a lot of waste for each ounce of metal.
