HALO are hosting a round of the Yorkshire Urban League in Beverley on Sunday 27th May.
The medieval town of Beverley is famous for its 13th century Minster and tucked away down its narrow streets are quirky shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also an independent department store (Brown's) and high street favourites including White Stuff, Fat Face, Costa Coffee and Marks and Spencer. The Dominican Friary, the historic Market Cross, the North Bar and the fine Georgian terraces all add to the historic importance and charm of Beverley. On the edge of town is the lovely green pasture land of Beverley Westwood.
Assembly and start are in the heart of the town in Saturday Market. There is parking adjacent to assembly and it is FREE.

Re: Yorkshire Urban League
Looking forward to it: last year's series and the early ones this year, have provided some great events, and the next few weeks, with Beverley, Knaresborough and York, look to continue that trend.

Beverley certainly continued the trend with, not one, but two really enjoyable courses (a standard length stage in the Yorkshire Urban League, with a sprint distance race afterwards). The planner's experience of urban orienteering certainly showed through (Thanks Brian!) with plenty of variety and interest. Coupled with the facts that Beverley itself is a lovely market town, parking was free and very close by, and there was an excellent cafe where one could sit outside and observe proceedings only 15m from assembly, all made for my sort of event! Thank you to all of HALO - definitely worth the 90 minute each way journey. Roll on Knaresborough and York next weekend.

Thanks to Brian (and the HALO team) for another great urban race, very enjoyable in a lovely town with a well sited bar/cafe which made for good food and company afterwards!

A good event. The sprint was a real test of concentration and mental flexibility. Thanks.
