A bit random having a mix of 3 and 6 minute start intervals on Elite? What's the thinking there?

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
If I were going I wouldn't get to the start in time and I would be certain to miss my bus back. I hope the M/W75+'s don't have the same problem.

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
Have given this some thought, and I entered in good faith long ago,now I see detailed arrangements I feel I cannot go along with such a huge time commitment given other priorities on that day. If I had known what I know now - would not have entered.

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
Are the final details on the event website?
All I can find is this,
"News 1/4/12, 19.07
Final details will be available very soon after the final entry date of 15th April."

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
Anybody wonder why this is nicknamed Mopesport?
It is has proved exceptionally difficult to arrange bus times to suit all however it was made clear very early via the website that a system with scheduled up and down times would operate mostly because we received a lot of wisdom suggesting a simple queuing system would not work. Parking 8-900 cars in the valley, which has suffered previously from rain affected fields, was not an option after the initial transport plan of the La'al Ratty disappeared.
The bus times accommodate split starts, groups entered together with vast start time ranges which are fixed as they are Elite competitors and helpers hence the advanced bus times in some instances. It also accommodates an additional 15% of entry numbers as EoD and non-competing family members which we had no idea would be so large. Rather than just suggest that huge errors have been spotted it would be more helpful to identify them, as the Transport Co-ordinator has spent a significant amount of volunteer time working on this and is bound to have made some mistakes, any assistance would be most appreciated, and where possible modifications will be accommodated.

I've been on this site for 8 years or so and have never heard that before.

To be fair to the organiser - thats a lot of moaning about something which was pretty clear from the start. In fact its one of the reasons we took the decision for not going this year, due to the potential length of the day with two young kids.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
I'm not going either but (sad as I am) had a look through the bus times just to see how they'd done it.
To be fair to the organiser by and large they seem to work for people and split starts / other requests seem to have been taken into account. There are always bound to be some of them that didn't work perfectly but it doesn't appear due to lack of time invested!
So for me it's more back to Mrs H's question on a different thread, which is "why have BOC in a place that is so hard to get to"..I presume it's the good terrain?

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
I wonder how much in-put the BOF Event Managers have had in organising the event - do they do any of the on the day stuff? Mind you I see Helen has 90 minutes to get round the course and back on the bus so I guess she won't have much time to do anything on the day - including getting any food from the traders. I don't think the traders will much like the arrangement as people don't tend to eat until after their runs and lots of them wont have time - do they have to pay to trade?
On a plus note - the weather forecast for the whole of the weekend is actually good (at the moment) that's good I have a nice walk planned for Saturday

Re: BLDC Start and Bus Times...
My bus time was 2 hours too early for my start time so I emailed the organisers and my new time was emailed back to me withing the hour. Excellent service.
