SOL 2 - Dalbeattie
Just back - very enjoyable race. Thought the planner got the most out of this area.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

Provisional results linked from the SOA site.
I agree that it was a lot better than I remembered or expected from the final details. I just wish I hadn't spent quite so long enjoying it!

Hardly anyone spent as long as I did enjoying the delights of the forest today. A challenging course for me, but the weather helped me stay cheerful. Thanks to all involved in putting on the event.
And a warning to all to make sure your SI Card is well secured. My other half fell in a bog, narrow but deceptively deep. Retrieved his map and compass, but SI Card gone forever. He also had to rescue someone who went in up to their waist. Hey, let's be careful out there!

It was a horrible and grotty forest!
The only highlight was 'running' over the trampoline like marshes, great fun

Missed out as still away on holiday on Saturday. I remember Dalbeattie being rather good at the 1980 JK.

Last time I went in 2010 it was a horrible and grotty forest - just how I like them. It was great! Sadly I couldn't make it on Saturday. Looking forward to going there again soon.
