The commentary team is gradually building up under the careful control of Ed Nicholas. Unfortunately one of the team has dropped out (his wife's rather than his own broken ankle) and we are looking for additional help (on a casual basis) to make sure the mic (mike?) doesn't fall silent for too long. No music licence so banter only required. Turn up on the day if you would like to but maybe contact me/us in advance so we can come up with a sensible roster.
The best forecast for the weekend is on meteox.co.uk but it is always warm and dry in Barrie's commentary box.

Re: JK2012 Commentary latest
Sorry to hear that there is no music licence.
Don't get me wrong - I hate background noise that makes one shout in order to talk to someone next to you. However, when it comes to the relays I really enjoyed the appropriate music that use to be played as the first leg runners set off. Especially the mini relay setting off to the Superman tune!

Does no music license mean that no music can be played or that only music that the commentary team has copyright permission for can be played?

I have a copy of Nicola Manfredi's CD of orienteering songs that I can bring if you wish.
I can ask Nick/Park World tour if they are happy for you to use them?

I think a licence relates to copyright music. Livingston music of any sort is probably a no no but opportunities elsewhere (but limits please).

Just hire some of the locals to turn up and put on some tunes, then the council won't complain

I'm sure you could round up a few buskers in Livingston for the afternoon

You cant just go out and pull in a few local buskers like that.
They have got yo have a licence.
You have got to have a licence.
The assembly has got to carry a certificate.
