Elgin.gov.uk
Not sure how many of you use the above site but they are currently advertising a beta version of the site. Looks like the future site wont have the detailed OS maps it currently uses.

If you are a registered user on the site emapsite.com you get "free" access to lots of data (view only on the screen) including OS MasterMap. Data can be purchased from this site too.

Re: Elgin.gov.uk
I suspect they are going to use the more generic maps you find on many "atlas" websites nowadays - fit for purpose and presumably cheaper. I never found Elgin to be especially useful - the large scale OS maps aren't that up to date and prefer to use aerial photos from Google or Fresh Logic studios to prepare base maps. Googles historic photos and distance & bearing tools are very useful. Generally used Elgin (and historic OS maps sites) for hints as things like boundaries (earthwalls ?), buildings (ruins ?) ponds and pits to search for.
