When you have
1) This ground swell of opinion
2) Long term residents who have put so much into British Orienteering (e.g my offspring have benefited enormously from Toni's input) being excluded from Championships.
3) Some of our top athletes being so critical of the imposed change.
Then, in my view, the Board is duty bound to reconsider this.

I think I agree with what Mharky is trying to say, but I think a distinction is needed between competing in the national championship event and competing for the national championship.
In Ireland or France (and no doubt lots of other places too) a foreigner can win the race, and win the first prize present (a pretty hat or whatever) but cannot win the trophy or a medal.
There are two things I don't like about the new British rule.
Firstly, what this thread has majored on, the exclusion of people who have been orienteering, and organising and planning, in Britain for a long time but are primarily citizens of another country.
Secondly, the exclusion of visiting foreigners who win courses from the prize-giving ceremony.

The first of the championships took place last weekend
That's why this has all arisen. I know as I was the Organiser and got a lot of flack. This was mainly from UK citizens who were annoyed that I dare question their eligibility
Hopefully things will get sorted as quickly as possible .

Do we not have at least 2 Board Directors who are frequent Nope Posters, what do they have to say about this "clarification" and implementation of the rule?

This is probably not the right place to ask them, perhaps email or PM instead.

Surely they are able to express an opinion?, they are not in the paid employ and have been voted in to their respective positions. The Nopesters Directors receiving heavy support from their fellow Nopesport posters.

We assume the almost identical letters issued by Lyn West and Mike Hamilton to complainants represent the BO Board's combined view and we would be surprised if any director expressed a different opinion.

Why would anyone be interested in their private views, this is more serous than that?
We need open action, Our Representatives need to stand up and be counted!
It should be plain to the membership who supports this "Rule" and who does not and then let us elect Board members accordingly.

Well there appear to be three nominations for the three vacant positions so not much opportunity to vote in someone sharing one's views. Doesn't look like many (any) of those that express strong and frequent opinions on Nopesport have put themselves forward. Perhaps on the Events and Competitions Committee.
