See this event has appeared on Fabian for April 15th.
Ayone know anything about it? It doesn't seem to be a club run event..presumably will be run in the evening when the shopping centre is closed?

It looks like it's early on Sunday morning before the shops open.

He's got a website where there is a tiny bit of information http://joshjenner.co.uk/
It could be fun and I do need some new socks.

Re: Orienteering event at Westfield Stratford City
Josh brought this up at the CHIG committee meeting during the week.
The event is a charity one, a score event over four floors with map by Ollie O'Brien. There will be four waves of starts. There is a ceiling on the number of runners permitted. The map is in two parts with two levels on each map
There will be quite a few CHIG members helping on the day, but it is not a BOF event.

Re: Orienteering event at Westfield Stratford City
Hi all,
Full details for this event can now be found here http://www.joshjenner.co.uk. Entries are now open and will close on the 10th April. The race is around an almost empty shopping centre which is spread over 4 levels and overlooks the olympic park. Funds raised are going to a local childrens hospice http://www.richardhouse.org.uk so please spread the word and support us.
Thanks
JoshJ

Updated details for Westfield Orienteering Event
I have added a 'background to the event' section on the event page to give you more of a feel for it. It will not be a straightforward score course, there will be a slight twist to use the multi levels effectively. http://www.joshjenner.co.uk
Let me know any feedback, keep spreading the word!

I await the ISSOwhatever symbol for the direction of an escalator. And whether running up a down escalator is OOB.

Government to change rules on Sunday shopping
During the Olympics the government are planning to relax the Sunday trading hours allowing shops to stay open longer. This could be continued beyond 2012 and become the norm.
If this is this case, to get the opportunity to run around a quiet shopping centre will probably not happen again. If you are curious and want to be involved in something truly unique then register your interest for the race around Westfield Stratford City.

Old news..... around 7 years ago there was a Tuesday evening competition (or maybe it was an activity) that ran through the Akropolis Centre in Vilnius.... dobb studs were banned unless you took the short cut over the easily cross-able but uncross-able wall around the ice rink.

Go orienteering in Lithuania......... best in the world:)
