Why is it that this year the JK, BOC and the CompassSport Cup final are being held in (what I call) the north and next year they are all being held in the south? Would it not be fairer in these financially challenged times to try and balance them a bit and spread the cost? The Sprints and Middle Champs are also "north" this year and sort of middle next year.

Oh no they are not - they are very north from here

JK is 24 and a half hour drive north of here according to the RAC

Distance isn't necessarilly the point Mike. The JK sprint is 4 hours drive from here, rather more than Sheffield (a northern region ) to my mum's near Southampton.

It will be quicker to drive to this year's Southern Champs from Dumfries than it will from west Cornwall.

The flipside, of course, is that next year everybody else will have an epic drive down to Penhale.

Eddie, d'accordo with that I have driven fromOxford to your neck of the woods in a series 3 Landrover and know just how far everything is from you. And of course Scott makes a good point too as Sheffield is closer to London than North Devon for example!
