The same filming team were at Bramhall Park near Manchester filming some Night O, staged by MDOC.
It's for the same piece as the Concorde Chase coverage, apparently to cover minority sports. Like others, I failed to ask the key question of when it will be shown.
They used a standard camera and a night vision one which should give some interesting shots.

Richard Barrett arranged the visit to the Concorde Chase, so will probably know when the piece is scheduled to be shown.

I heard that it is for the 'Get Involved' feature which, from their website, appears to be Saturday mornings. There are already various videos on the site relating to other minority sports so I expect, even if you don't have Sky, you will be able to see the coverage.
I took a few photos of the Sky interviews - one attached.

The man in the picture was running around Sevenoaks this evening in tee-shirt and shorts (no 'O' bottoms underneath either
), with a temperature of -2c. Got all 20 controls within the hour too. Nice work Ed.

Seems to be on Sky Sports News HD. Which I assume means that non-HD Sky subscribers won't see it ...

Re: Sky Sport at Minley Wood on Sunday
I had this from Steve Vernon today:
This Saturday (11th February) Orienteering will be a feature on Sky Sports News from 7am as part of their 'Get Involved' programme. The programme aims to provide information on how to get involved in different sports and also highlight sports with less media coverage.
Filming took place last week at the Manchester and District Orienteering Club Night in Hazel Grove and also at the Regional Event at Concorde Chase near Farnborough. As well as footage of Orienteering taking place the crew from Sky Sports conducted interviews and provided information on British Orienteering's clubs, events and activities.
More information can be found here:

Channel 405 on Sky is either Sky Sports News or Sky Sports News HD, depending on whether you have subscribed to the HD package (455 is SD for HD customers only). I believe the programming is the same - Sky tend to refer to the HD versions for marketing reasons.

Re: Sky Sport at Minley Wood on Sunday
Just watched it - it is late on in the hour if you've recorded (50 mins in)and is very good apart from one of the interviewees (Richard Barrett) obviously having been told to mention "you can walk" and doing it a time too many. BUT a minor critique on a very good promotional exercise.
I love "a gully -it's a ditch" from a youngster as he runs along the string with enthusiasm

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

I've just watched it online at:
http://www.skysports.com/tv_show/story/ ... 28,00.html
so you don't need Sky to see it.
It's a good advert for the sport and there is quite an emphasis on the adventure side of it.

Agree its a good piece of promotion especially since the content is presumably controled by Sky. Apart from a couple of raised eyebrows at some of the clobber we liked it in the andypat household!
Orienteering - its no walk in the park
