Ok, In several months time i shall become a student dosser, but i do not know in which fine university i learn the upstanding trade of dossing. I have offers from Sheffield and Edinburgh, but which is better?
Opinions please.
ooooh hot debate, i like your style... i don't think i'm going to get involved in this one, speak to the kids, they know where it's at... and also our foreign imports - they keep on coming! latest one comes on tuesday...
Of course Edinburgh will win this argument as there are about 100 internet gimps up there to every 1 (ie me) in Sheffield.
Both have their advantages and I suggest you go and have a look at both. Sheffield is undoubtedly better for orienteering training (proximity to terrain, quality of terrain, standard of local orienteers etc.) but Edinburgh seems to have a good young crowd at the moment (then again so does Sheffield).
Also, you can't argue with Sheffield being BUSA champions for at least 5 consecutive years. Well, you can argue with that it seems, but we are.
Sheffield is great for orienteering and I've found everyone easy to get along with, though am sure its the same at Edinburgh with many commited people there. Basically, why r u asking people form this message board, as we all probably have some vested interest! (except Becky being controversial!)Take wise Samonsites advice and visit each as there are other factors apart from orienteering, eg. how far would you have to travel with all stuff home at end of terms?
After BUSA and some UK relays the debate might be settled,...... no probably not!
My words of wisdom, take advice from those there but in the end make your own mind up so you're happy. Therefore, why the young pretender from NOC thinks he can comment on this issue I don't know
as an upstanding member of the academic community look at the department that you are thinking of studying at. you will thank this when you are spending far too much time on nopesport and less time studying. training wise both unis are excellant us lot admit that about those down south and i am sure its the same.
and sheffield looks horrible in the rain and we have a nice castle.
