Re: The Military Challenge 2011
Anyone know why there is not an Orange course like last year? Red is too far for a 10 year old!

Re: The Military Challenge 2011
Seems a little harsh to have the shortest TD3 course at 6.5km, I notice there is no LGreen either.
Does anyone know if there are allocated start times? I'm coming down from Buckingham so would be nice to plan the day a bit...

Start times will not be allocated, it will be a punching start. The final details confirming this and everything else you need to know will be published on the BAOC website tonight and emailed to all competitors who provided an email address when entering online.
Yes, we could have put on an orange course (although the red is a long orange) and a light green course and a few others. But I think I had asked the planners to do more than enough with the foot O, mountain bike and track/trail running courses. At least you know what is on which has to be a bonus!

Soldja Boi - I don't know if you are aware, a few of us who entered via ntrees earlier this week had our entries confirmed, but paypal didn't take any money.

I had a strange message as to why they couldn't process my entry. I contacted them via their email and had a prompt reply. Have now had to send a cheque by snail mail as I don't do electronic banking

Maprun, nTrees are aware of the issue affecting those competitors who have attempted to pay by PayPal. I'm sure they will be in touch with anyone who they haven't received payment from.

Many thanks, great to have the opportunity to run Challenging courses on both South and North Long Valley.

Great black course. Definitely not "long" in IOF terms and much much much better for it. Used the best of the area in several loops.

Bike course was good as usual to. I was expecting another full on lap of the Northen map at the end and definatly had to try and pick the pace up for a sprint finish over the last 4 km when I saw how little was left, which of course led to errors I was not as bad as some with this though from the odd split I saw.

Fantastic event once again - one of the highlights of the orienteering year for me - with the Boxing Day Canter and the Sarum New Year's Day event that we're just about to do it makes a terrific Wessex 3 days.
