Re: 2012 membership cards
BOF websites say's they made a mistake in working out the age classes on the cards.... not BOF's best area of expertise as they also messed up the membership fees on the renewal forms....
Yippee... another BOF Bashing Excuse

Re: 2012 membership cards
BOF website says "a small number of cards" have been printed with the wrong age class. That's 3 out of 4 wrong for our family.

2 out of 5 wrong here - funnily it's not that they have forgotten to change to a new age class - the girls haven't been those age classes for at least a year
It's hard to understand how that could happen.

Re: 2012 membership cards
I too have just received our 2012 membership cards, and discovered that both the kids have been given the wrong age class!
I just looked at the BOF website before looking here - to discover their message about the problem. I also looked at the conversion chart (not because I needed to) but what a ridiculous conversion chart it is - why on earth couldn't they put year of birth in the first column? It would be a lot easier than subtracting the year of birth from 2012.
BOF really don't comprehend making things user friendly do they?

Me too, I'm now an M55 (again).
At this rate I'll be M21 when I retire

Re: 2012 membership cards
From the cards in our house it looks as though they have made everyone a year younger than they were in 2011 rather than a year older. ie everyone is back to running their 2010 age classes.

Re: 2012 membership cards
Three out of Four wrong here - and as the one right is a W21 (and has been for a few years) that could be really be a 100% failure rate.
Now I've suggested it before; how about a forum especially for knocking BOF (Gross as moderator?)?

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

Same here. Bart and Lisa have both moved back to their 2010 age class. They want to know if that means they can run competitively in that class in 2012?!!
Looks like more than just a few errors as stated on the website to me. Could make the £1 subscription mistake look very minor financially. And all at a time when we need to be making savings...
Edit: just seen the age class conversion table on the BOF website. In my opinion it would be a lot simpler just to have YOB down the left hand side. Perhaps they've confused themselves with an over-complicated way of working out age classes?

3 out of 4 wrong, kids have not moved up and I have moved down...re the wrong fees..what is BO doing about it, are we supposed to paying more as I have not been asked for more cash, just paid the £51.30 they asked for and they have cashed my cheque...will we be barred from entering events in 2012 cos we are not BO members?

Re: 2012 membership cards
I might be being a bit thick, but why is it going to cost any money? Doesn't it just mean that this year's membership cards will carry the wrong date and we can feel a bit younger for a year?

This refers to the earlier (but separate) mistake which went out on the membership renewal forms.

All four wrong here.
Mrs Blobs was delighted to be given a card showing she was getting younger. She plans on selling the formula to a famous cosmetics company.
Perhaps we have been travelling faster than the speed of light and have got younger. I knew all that training would pay off.
