Re: British Schools Champs
The weekend also included the inaugural Scottish Schools' Sprint Championships.
The results of the Sprint are on the Scottish Schools website.

Ahhh .... the moderators delete 229's valid comment
Anyway completely not related to the British Schools... this was seen on the BBC website a few moments ago:
A "Get Britain Building Fund" will see developers compete for funding to take forward projects which meet the right criteria, among them a commitment to affordable homes.
All very worthwhile but it also says - England only - so you wonder why the Scots get peed off? Britain & England ARE NOT THE SAME THING

Was it not that small backwater town near Glasgow?

Back to the subject, looks like Torquay easily win the prize for longest journey. Probably still on the way home .....
Good to see my old school competing; no orienteering there in my day.

Whether it should be the Scots who are fed up with the perennial mixup between "England" and "Britain" (with which I have every sympathy!), or the English who should be fed up because this simply means even more being thrown at the property bubble (part of the cause of the problems we're having) and even more unnecessary building in the wrong places, is a matter for some conjecture (I can't believe this is being portrayed in the media as good news!). Maybe both. It would certainly be a great encouragement to emigrate across the border if Scotland did gain independence.

And you need that encouragement
Just look at the place up here - can't imagine why you all stay down there.

The daily commute would be far too long, and there aren't enough jobs up there for all of us (more's the pity).

Gross- you should have been in Aberdeenshire - sun all day and nary a sniff of snow or sleet (tho' the hills to the west a fairly plastered with the white stuff).
