I'm always way down the results at this event but I really enjoy it. I think it's my favourite orienteering weekend of the year, followed closely by the EUOC Burns weekend. This weekend's was no exception.
The idea of having a night event then a day one in the same location with some of the same controls is great.
It's amazing how different an area can look when you can see where you are going. Tinto do a great job of organising it and it was great to see a tent with several pans of hot soup on stoves set up in the middle of the forest greeting me at the end of my run.
And the rain stayed off.

Re: Tinto Twin
My first time and I really enjoyed it - I shall be back!
I am new to night orienteering - this was only my second cross-country event - but I was totally engrossed by Saturday's race, with its mixture of forest and open moor. I knew that I had to concentrate every step of the way and, for once, managed it. The soup at the end was a nice touch and there was just a fantastic atmosphere all night.
Sunday was interesting - going over some of the same ground of the previous evening, but in daylight - but I was too tired to do myself justice; it was my fifth event in eight days!
Can't wait for next year!

The gratuitous climb on the brown was a bit brutal but it was a fun course nonetheless! Couldn't make the night event this year sadly, too much painting to be done...
