Re: Try extreme
Organised by Roxburgh Reivers member Paul McGreal, the brains behind the Durty Triathlon at St. Mary's Loch in the Scottish Borders and the Craggy Island Triathlon on Kerrera near Oban ( as seen recently on the Adventure Show), so it promises to be good. It is just a pity I swim like the proverbial brick ......

Re: Try extreme
Interesting approach to event advertising. Fancy website, very little information apart from the date, lots of teasers, and some nice mountain pictures. Entry limit of 150 people, and an entry window of only 2 weeks.
So how much will it cost? I'll guess £75...

Re: Try extreme
Given the cost of the equivalent rat race event from Nairn to Glencoe was £150 I think (£200 for the less self sufficient version) I reckon it might be more than £75. They are subtly discouraging mere mortals like myself though so the cost is irrelevant to me. Be interesting to see if any O people take up the challenge - I suspect it would depend on the length of the swim, which is probably most of our weak links.
I did a mini triathlon once (6 lengths) and was nearly lapped by my one minute (wo)man

Re: Try extreme
I suspect that orienteers may be in demand as support runners in the "run over a mountain" that finishes the event. Personally I don't think I'm fit enough to drive the support car!
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg
