Re: OMM
I may be being a bit thick here but can anyone direct me to the results page for the OMM? I can find the routegadget (thanks Paul) and the photos etc but not the results for each category. Assume if theyre on routegadget they must be out?

You can find the results here:
http://www.theomm.com/event.html
and then selecting the Maps and Timings 2009 tab.

The results are there, but it looks like the tabs don't work properly in IE6! You can make it work by disabling javascript if you are allowed and know how.
Alternatively, just follow this link directly to the result page instead : http://www.theomm.com/results/2009/

Re: OMM
Sadly, Chris Near and Tim Higginbottom didn't start day 2. For the second time in 3 months, I unexpectedly met Chris Near somewhere in Wales - first time was at a level crossing over narrow gauge steam railway on Tim's Snowdonia round, when I was marshalling on BG Energy Challenge; this time, he was downing toast & drink when I came to get a coffee & use toilet in a petrol station cafe, after spending a wild, windy and solo night on the hills before heading to day 2 checkpoint. So, got the low-down on Elite day 1 results, particularly many adventure race friends. Perhaps odd, but a solo night camping at a remote checkpoint is a treat for some OMM marshals! But aiming to compete next year.

I'm looking for a kind volunteer who would be willing to transport the C-class trophy that my son and Ravinous won last year back to the OMM. I will be at the Cambridge City Race next Saturday and could pass it on there. Please PM or e-mail n.crickmore(AT)sussex.ac.uk

I have to say i'm a bit annoyed by this comment. Surely if they are always getting lost up the wrong valley then they shouldn't be allowed to start the competition. With all these cuts at the moment i'm not sure that the mountain rescue can cope with such extra demands at the moment. People entering the OMM should be well equipped and well prepared.

Shurly shome mishtake? No need to notify MR as I presume all this 'valley' and 'lost' business will be occurring at overnight 'camp'?

No because if they are at the overnight camp they will be in the right valley.

I'm sure these two experienced orienteers will know how to handle their equipment and put safety first even if they get stuck in a hairy situation.

I'd be careful if I were James Taylor:
