Re: CompassSport Cup
I took rather a lot of photos today so I'll finish uploading them tomorrow. The first batch is here:

I have hopefully changed the permissions so if you want copies you can download them from the site. If you wish to use them in squad mags etc, please credit me and also let me know. If you are still unable to download them, contact me on: wendy.carlyle@btinternet.com

Re: CompassSport Cup
Great set of photos Wendy - all helps to add to the sense of occasion.
I really enjoyed the area and my course, especially the loop near the start on Brown. MIssed the prizes at the end as took one of our team to hospital with what fortunately turned out to be a bad ankle sprain only. Hope the person with the suspected spinal injury (in the first aid ambulance as we were leaving) was OK - not sure if they were an orienteer or not.
Well done FVO (with hangovers) and SYO. Also bad luck to INT - sooo close and really unfortunate with the mp.

INT were even more unfortunate with the top junior who wasn't there because he overslept...

Was this gentleman expecting to be out some time last Sunday?

I think that his eyes are starting to age, and he may have expected some legs in conifer woods. Ribbing won't make him change!

We were chatting at the start - its map definition under the canopy thats the problem for him with his vision. I can understand his difficulty - a torch is small price to pay.

To be honest it was Wayne Rooney's Dad who gave me that result.....

Absolutely. I wish I'd had a torch at the British Relays: small scale map (forced on us against the wishes of mapper and planner - dig, dig), dark canopy, completely unable to even see the lines let alone read them. I've started carrying a small torch round with me just in case.

Re: CompassSport Cup
From the comments and results it looks like the Trophy works very well as a competition.

NOC's top junior still made it and he "overslept" as well.
