Having not been to Barry Buddon before (which looks fantastic by the way) I am intrigued by the final details.
In particular the reference to facilities which says

Facilities. Toilets, squash, string course.

Had it been anywhere else I would have assumed that squash was a reference to drinks, but I am now wondering if this is an invitation by the MOD to bring along our racquets for a quick rubber or two post run?

All I remember about the place was that it was very flat, had lots of long grass, and the occasional tree here and there...

is this a different Barry Buddon?

sounds about right!

I think the squash comment is likely in reference to the diluted beverage, however if you'd like to bring a couple of racquets and a ball I'm sure you'll find someone willing to have a game in the download room/barn/thing!

Also has tanks and a narrow gauge railway line.

I also noted reference to squash (juice). In these days where the trend is not to provide water at the finish, it's like being offered a beer or G&T !
