No disqualification software

I noticed from the London City Race final details that SLOW are trialling some software that allows mispunches on junior courses to be given a 10 minute penalty rather than the soul destroying public disqualification. Well done. I think it's something we would be interested for beginners and junior courses at least, and no doubt other clubs would too.

Any thoughts/comments about this software from SLOW or anybody else ? Cost, compatability, useability etc.

yep, AutoDownload does it out of the box, worked a treat on Sunday at the esoc ultrasprint.
it's easy to set up, just set the course to 'Linear with Time Penalties' (I think, don't have Autodownload in front of me) and then assign a time value to each control you want a penalty to apply to.

ESOC had an automatic 2 mintue penalty for any missed controls on their super-sprint on Sunday. As far as I know they were using autodownload from Sport Ident. Any penalties ere added onto your time immediately and included on your split print-out

I'm sure Andy can fill you in on the specifics of how the software does it. But if it is just autodownload, then there is no cost, compatibility or usability issues.

I can confirm that my two minute penalty was added to my time on the results for Course 1, but it wasn't on the split print-out I received at download.

Just above the splits (I think) there was a 'Penalty: 02.00'
