Look at the coverage Bradley Wiggins and chums are getting for their feats in the Vuelta. Yes look, look very hard.

If a mainstream sport like Cycling where GB are major players struggles to get publicity, what chance have we?

Just heard on the Radio that GB Basketball has it's 1st ever win at the Chmpionships against Portugal! There is some coverage!

Alex Salmond & Co duly turned up in Cooper Park, Elgin on Tuesday. The 1st Minister took over as start official for the primary schools orienteering race, took great interest in the 'Naughty Numbers' session and had a good chat with one of the Scotjos team. The sun shone and the visit seemed to be a great success from our point of view, with the ministers showing great interest, and lots of media people all over the place.

The guys from the basketball club put on a great show too.

Hey I'm not exactly an M20 George Clooney myself!

My point was in support of wider publicity for a great performance by people who'd earned the right to be respected and was suggesting that the "sport of all" ethos was being lost in order to show the sport as "young" and "photogenic".
And I clarified that to some degree in a later post............
