WOC Long Final
Helen Palmer is first into the forest in 20mins or so, can any of the Brits win any medals? Can any guys beat Thierry? Should be exciting to watch, shame work seems to be getting in the way!

Helen's underway.
The start looks hard, the butterfly loops are in the easiest bit.

Re: WOC Long Final
interesting route choices to 1, helen looks like she's going in off the first aid point whereas the other two are going along the path
I don't see anything other than 'straight is great' on the long leg, perhaps going west around the hill (via the start area?) to avoid the grotty hill north of 5

Sadly Helen's route wasn't great, and she was unsure near the control. Overtaken by her 3 minute lady at no 1. Possibly in sight of her.

Re: WOC Long Final
On leg 4 Helen's again going straightish whilst Vike's going straight up to the path. It'llbe interesting to see what's best here.
The first leg seems to be very crucial 3rd, 4th and 5th starters all close together already.

I can't recall seeing an event where so many people are going different ways, and getting lost. Mind you they are all a whole lot better at relocation than most punters.

Sandra Pauzaite appears to have made an even bigger comedy mistake to number 1 than Guizzardi.

Just as well Stalin's not around still or Vinogradova would be on her way to the Goulags

Re: WOC Long Final
It's unbelievable. Everyone that appears to have taken the best? safest route to no 1 looks to be catching others then they mess up the control - both men and women. Jonne Lehto is the latest, but corrected quickly.

Interesting decision to have the same first control for men and women
