Re: August Bank Holiday
I'm going to White Rose with the twins. They are really looking forward to it
Going Early, coming back late hoping to avoid most of the traffic, plus loads of route choice here. Plus I don't do Urban races the maps confuse me

There's nothing wrong with the tough Yorkshire terrain, brilliant courses, 7 races to take part in, awesome views, friendly campsite, and much more...

Love the White Rose format - family friendly/club friendly/challenging areas/good maps - shame about the traffic but hey, travel late/early.

A dedicated band of Eborienteers work very hard to produce a weekend full of 'o' variety...it's fun! You can keep Guildford, give me the North York Moors and forests anytime.

Thats where I'm going, although it should be pointed out that the Scottish Inter club relay (formerly 11 person relay) on the Sunday is a fantastic club event but open to Scottish clubs only.

The event is open to anybody see rule 2 (http://www.scottish-orienteering.org/soa/page/scottish-inter-club-team-relays-guidelines/),
"A Club may enter as many teams as they wish. To be competitive the team must comprise 11 different members of the same SOA club. Non SOA Clubs, teams comprising members of more than one club and teams with runners doing more than one leg are welcome, but not eligible for prizes. There are no age group constraints."

Re: August Bank Holiday
You are right of course. I was reading the introduction to the same article which gave me a slightly different impression:
"The Scottish Inter Club Team Relays is intended to provide a low-key, mass participation relay competition between Scottish clubs during the summer months (April-September). "
