Re: Moray Mix 2011
Start times have just been uploaded. Most of the middle start times for the popular courses (eg Short Brown, Blue, Green) have been allocated. Any entries between now and the closing date on Tuesday will be done sometime on Wednesday. There are some minor adjustments to course lengths on Day 2 and these will go up as an amendment to the event details on the Moravian Web Site on Monday.
Just want to say thanks to all those folk who've humoured us and entered by the requested date of 3rd June. It helps get the map order right and makes the pre-event admin so much easier. Cheers everyone.
Edit (5 June): And just to whet your appetite, this is what the organsier has just reported after test running the Womens Open/Vet Men's course at Lossie this morning....
I have just run the B course in Lossie. It is awesome
There's still time to enter if this sounds like your kind of thing.

Re: Moray Mix 2011
I've sent the organiser two emails about start times but haven't had a response. Is there anyone else I can contact? My other half forgot to ask for early/mid starts and there was no way to change the entry once it had been done so I e-mailed to ask for that but we've been given late starts.
In a fit of madness I entered short brown so I don't think anyone wants to be waiting around for me at the end of the day!

What are pictorial descriptions?

Electrocuted - please send me a PM (or amend your entry on Fabian4). I'm doing the last batch of start times on Wednesday morning and can sort you out no problem. You can stick a post up here if you like provided you don't mind giving yourself away.
The organiser has become indisposed through work so we'll put an alternative organiser's contact e-mail on the Moravian web site ASAP.
Have seen the Lossie Course B and I can confirm that the course really is awesome. If anyone running this course doesn't think Urban O's challenging, stand by to be educated! I'm certain that applies to the other courses too.

Re: Moray Mix 2011
For those that have entered Saturday's race, they might be interested to know that course A has 45 controls, B 39 ... so the loose descriptions will inevitably be long. However they will be on waterproof paper so should be comfortable hanging outside a holder.
Also Men's open runners might like to be aware that they have a leg in rough grassland which is liberally, but not densely supplied with nettles. The organiser and I have both been bashing down any on what we consider to be the optimum route. Personally I'd wear shorts but some might prefer some leg covering.

I'm with AndyPat on this one, Eddie.

I ran the non urban part of the A course this afternoon in shorts and short socks, and apart from a few minor nettle stings it felt very comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Re: Moray Mix 2011
Course A has the longest set of loose descriptions I've ever seen with course B probably the second longest
However you'll be glad to know that they are printed on waterproof paper, so they can flap about happily. Far better than littering the countryside with non recyclable paper I think.

I believe it's still biodegradable even if not recyclable - I hope so I put the old maps on the compost heap

Having printed on both sides I hope
Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg
