I can remember when event results envelopes were eagerly awaited for a couple of weeks after an event.
These contained not only the results, but also organisers, planners and controllers comments. Thanks to competitors, sponsors, landowners etc.
Some club websites seem now to be simply putting up Autodownload results and maybe Route Gadget.
Bring back all the comments to round off the event!
These also let those who did not go see what they missed.

Re: Event Results publishing
You may be being too quick in looking. Lots of clubs get the raw results up quickly as people want to know how they did but allow things to cool off a little before the planner, controller and organiser (and in one I remember the SI guru) make comment on the event.
CLOK are often making available a comments board specific to the event -which gives people the opportunity to comment on their experience (and the officials sometimes explain reasons for decisions etc.)

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

They are also a good opportunity to publicise some future events but I wonder how many people read them when the comments are published after the results? And many would feel that the results shouldn't be delayed for comments?
With the pressure to put on more events with the same number of organisers/planners/controllers it seems reasonable that people make these a lower priority.

Re: Event Results publishing
Quite a few clubs have an event page where you can see everything for the event:
Flyer
Entries
Final Details
Results
RG
Organisers comments
Planners comments
Controllers comments
And maybe a forum for the event.
etc.
This gives a terrific clue as to what to expect before and after the event, and keeps competitors and others coming back for a look.
Publicity for future events is fine, although that should be elsewhere on the site.
It does not commit anyone to a timescale, but has a structure for officials to follow.

Re: Event Results publishing
I generally ask after every event for comments to put on the website, only get a response now and again...

Re: Event Results publishing
It's true that many clubs (including mine) tend to post results asap, adding comments as they are provided. But with results appearing so fast, interest has often waned after a couple of days unless runners' routes maintain it.
Having controlled many times over the years, I always try to find something to say which may be of use to later planners on the same area; but recently I have had to ask whether comments are just dying out. Funnily enough, yesterday I was looking at some results of 20 years ago, noticing that comments from the 3 officials ran to 2 closely typed A4 sides. Another event had 3 sets of comments (all anonymous) explaining why some controls had been misplaced ...
