Re: JK2012
I have every confidence that I can work with Dave Peel to deliver another great JK. He didn't write the document I may add. Hopefully the amendments we suggest (which tone down the "will" elements) will be acceptable and we can move forward.

Rematch next year? I'll see if I can avoid breaking my arm on the evening of the race...

Depends, on M12a or M21e?! Don't fancy my chances either way...

What do others think about providing event centres? I think they are a waste of time and money. There wasn't one this year or in 2009. I cannot remember if there was one last year. Since my first JK in 1985 I have only been to 1 or 2 event centres.

If you've only been to 2 in 25 years how can you tell?
Did you come to mine in 2005 - it was buzzing
I love them - as long as they are good - puts the heart into an event

You can usually tell from the programme, in the past they generally had infromation & traders on the Friday and information & results on Saturday & Sunday. With not much else. Now a days event infromation can be found on the event website along with results. Which only leaves traders which can wait until the events.

Probably not as it was near my sister inlaws parents house, I guess I visited or stayed with them that year.

If there is a event campsite (eg SINS, Scottish Six Days) there is generally better use of an event centre along side and they tend to be better.

Don't know where Dunnalastair and Newtyle are, but it looks like there will be quite a bit of travelling between days.

Less than JK2000
Dunalistair is closer to Dunkeld than Rannoch (it's in a similar area) was and Newtlye is very close to Craig a Barns (which is right next to Dunkeld). Livingston is a bit of a trek but it's probably being assumed that most will be travelling from the south and have to pass it on the way to the Dunkeld area

Re: JK2012
Dunalistair...... Oh the memories not just the braken but the ankle breaking terrain. Whilst I was in the first aid sector with my badly twisted ankle, the ambulance and all helpers were called out to a casulty on the course and whilst I was being a weak and feeble woman and fainting due to the shock, the competitors with ankle injuries were hobbling in. I was able to limp back to the family but a lot of them were being taken off to hospital.
Now Rannoch that's a far better area shame those birds gather there as they seem to on all the good areas.

Dunalistair in the spring will be a totally different matter to Dunalisair in the summer.
