Thought I'd give a plug for this on Sunday for anyone not heading to NI and near Perth. I've been busy so didn't get it advertised on the SOA website and suspect Paul F is now in NI.
Full details on BOF, 2k path course, 2.5k orangish, 4k green, 6k blue. Mainly on the permanent markers at Kinnoull (6k also Deuchny). Mini chocolate eggs at some controls. Easter egg prizes for decorated hard boiled egg competition. Jubilee car park.

I'll be there! And, as it's on 'home turf' and not SOL/SoSOL, I might even try the blue!

I enjoyed it - apart from going astray at number 6 and being completely 'tired out' by the end - and I got the chance to try out using the compass in a 'thumb compass' style (with mixed success). It was a mistake to combine chocolate eating with orienteering, though. Will I learn for next year - I doubt it!
Thanks for all the effort in putting the event on!

We had about 50 folk in total which was good. a mix of regular orienteers and family groups some of whom had done the recent schools events. We even had an international orienteer from Latvia.
Learning point on planning and organising o events number 306.
"Don't put the clear, start and finish units next to each other. A tired finisher can easily punch the clear by mistake."

Re: Perth Easter EggO event Sun
I ended up emailing about 4 of them, the mtb group, the Kinnoull hill users group (who'd been told of the events already by Dave) and a couple of others nearby.
I did get asked about the event by a woman who had horses in a nearby field, I may check the address of her farm next time I'm passing and let her know about events. She mainly wanted to check it wouldn't be a big event with lots of cheering that would upset the horses, in which case she'd move them, and was happy to hear it wasn't.
Having a couple of people like her on a list to contact would make sense, rather than 70. I asked the mtb guy if he'd had to contact all these folk and he hadn't, but said that forestry had made things hard with insurance and permits so he'd thrown in the towel with events and just had club rides there.
