Jubilee Weekend 2012 (2-5th June 2012)

The programme will be;
GO Guildford University; permission not yet confirmed (level C event)
SO Oldhouse Warren – (long) (Level B event)
LOK Holmbury Hill – (Middle) (Level C event)
MV Balcombe – Score event (Level D event)

The first three days will be South East Championship events.

All 4 days will be SEOA Champs -- The score is the SE Team Score Champs
probably with a mass start followed by prize giving barbecue

SOC 2012 has applied for WRE status for the elite classes and Masters Cup/FCC/whatever else for as many classes as possible - depending on what competitions exist at that time.

We are also looking at providing a MTBO race on Monday morning (urban race late afternoon starts), in Scolty/Shooting Greens forest - SW of Banchory, we are looking into the possibility of providing a source for hiring mountain bikes to those competitors who cannot bring their own.

I think the South West event will be the traditional Tamar Triple weekend which as in 2002 will turn into the Tamar Quadruple. I haven't heard any details yet. But not Penhale as that's reserved for 2013 Southern Champs.

The campsite at Scottish Champs 2012 has ben confirmed as the Braemar Highland Games Park (so any royalists can go and gawp at the Royal box). Permanent toilets on site and showers in village hall 300m away. Minimal cost (possibly around £6-£8 per tent).

Another reason to travel to glorious Deeside next June - mountain Bike O race has been confirmed at Scolty/Shooting Greens - a large FC area southwest of Banchory. Race will be held the morning of Monday 4th June with urban sprint in Banchory having late afternoon starts. 4 days, 5 events - maybe we'll see about adding something else....

Scottish Champs 2012 has just confirmed significant support from the Cairngorm National Park Authority and the CNPA Local Area Group (Leader funding. This will be used to ensure the maps are top class and that no expense is spared in hosting a top class event - remember 5 races in 4 days.... and all in lovely runnable (or cyclable for the MTBO) areas.
dates 2-5 June 2012, location Braemar and Deeside.

So am I. I have already booked my accomodation with friends in Banchory. I will be giving the BOC a miss next year but joining you in Scotland. Can't wait
