Go Ape offer in Focus
Received Spring 2011 Focus today (2nd April). On page 16, I noted the offer to win a family gift voucher for Go Ape and was considering entering when I noted that the closing date was 1st April! Did anyone actually receive their Focus in time to enter the competition?

Perhaps the key to that question might be in the date?

Possibly the slowest Orienteer in the NE but maybe above average at 114kg

That wasn't the only thing in Focus with a 1st April closing date - athletes seeking nominations for selection to the British Teams and Performance Programme Coaching Camps also had to return a form by then (although I suspect that the people concerned would also have heard about this via another route, at least I hope so). Sounds like the magazine was planned to be sent out sooner but was delayed for some reason.

There's a news article on the BOF website today - the competition deadline has been extended until 15th April.

I have no problem with the Go Ape offer appearing on the British Orienteering website front page - but strange to think that if it had been a British orienteering event at anything other than level A, such publicity would not have been allowed.

I'll point out that publicity was requested for the Northern Championships and none was forthcoming despite them being level A but Mike Hamilton is back from leave now....
